Recuperation ducts

Recuperation ducts

We install heat recovery duct runs, distribution boxes and diffusers, insulate ducts in cold zones and connect them to the unit.

Heat recovery ventilation supplies fresh air, removes stale air and passes the heat from one to the other. For the system to run quietly and efficiently, the duct runs must be planned correctly and joined airtight.

We run ducts through ceilings and partitions and fit distribution boxes and diffusers. In a cold loft we insulate the ducts so no condensation forms, and we seal where they pass through the vapour control layer.

What we install

  • Supply and extract duct runs
  • Distribution boxes (manifolds)
  • Ceiling and wall diffusers
  • Duct insulation in cold zones
  • Connection to the heat recovery unit

How we work

  1. We plan the runs

From the design or floor plan we set where ducts run and where boxes go.

  2. We install

We lay the ducts, fit boxes and diffusers and seal every joint.

  3. We connect

We connect the runs to the unit and insulate ducts in cold zones.

Questions

Why insulate ducts in the loft?

In a cold loft, warm air in the duct cools and condensation collects on its walls. An insulated duct keeps its temperature and stays dry.

Can you fit ducts in a lived-in house?

Usually we install ducts during construction, before finishes. In a lived-in house we assess what is possible from the ceiling and loft.
